What are the functions of industrial springs?

Jan 19, 2017

The industrial springs are widely used springs which are flexible and deformable. The main functions of industrial springs are:

1. Buffering and absorbing oscillation: this kind of springs are deformable and can absorb oscillation and impact. For example, the buffering springs for cars and trains, oscillation absorption springs of coupler.

2. The moving of control mechanism: the applied force will not change too much at certain deformation range. Such as internal combustion valve springs, clutch control springs and springs of automatic machine tool cam mechanism.

3. Energy storage: this kind of springs have large flexibility and applied force is stable. Such as clock springs, springs of auto machine automatic returning device.

4. Measuring force: This kind of spring requires a linear relationship between the force and the deformation. Such as springs of dynamometer and spring scale.
